PRESIDENT'S INVITATION
The
Auburn Lions Club is an organization of people dedicated to working to better their community. Our members come from all walks
of life. Some members are retired; some members work full time jobs. We come from differing educational and work backgrounds,
but we all have one thing in common: WE SERVE.
Last year, our club donated over $21,000.00 to charitable organizations
located in the Auburn area. Because Helen Keller challenged our organization to be "knights of the blind," we gave
approximately 67% of these donations to organizations that help with the blind and other sight impaired people in our community.
Scores of disadvantaged school children in Lee County receive eye exams and glasses because of our club. We also screened
the eyes of over 300 children in our local schools, identifying over 30% with sight problems.
If you would like
to be part of an organization with a 82 year history of serving the community, we invite you to visit and join the Auburn
Lions Club. We meet every Tuesday at the Golden Corral Resturant in Opelika, Alabama. Our meeting starts at 12 Noon and we
invite you to join us for lunch between 11 AM and 12 noon. Guest
speakers from the local area and around the state are invited to speak each week except one which is set aside as a business
meeting.
